K. S. Rajendran


Prof. K.S. Rajendran is a well-known theatre director, National School of Drama alumnus, former Professor of Dramatic Literature and founder of New Delhi Theatre Workshop (later renamed Natyadharmi). He is also LTG's Artistic Director for the year and leading our annual repertory program.

He has worked extensively with the Chennai-based theatre repertory Koothu-p-Pattarai, been the Course Director of the UNESCO ITI workshop on Ancient Indian Drama held in Bucharest in 2006, conducted the National Workshop on Sanskrit Play Production for the Sanskrit University in 2008, and his production of Shakespeare's RICHARD III was presented at the Second International Theatre Festival organised by GATS at Beijing in September 2011.

Prof. Rajendran is also known for his unique approach of integrating the principles of Natyashastra in his productions of Sanskrit classics.
